President Jacob Zuma has asked Justice Minister Jeff Radebe’s office to speed up the investigation into a media interview newly-appointed Special Investigating Unit head Willem Heath granted City Press.
Thabo Mbeki has complained about accusations Heath made against him in the article.
This includes that the former president had abused his position to block investigations into corrupt practices.
Zuma says although Heath had spoken in his personal capacity, the serious nature of the allegations makes a probe urgent.
