No major drowning incidents over the Easter weekend

There were a number of drowning incidents over the Easter weekend.

In the transkei coast line and Richards bay rivers were swollen.

The National Sea Rescue Institute responded to various incidents of drowning but no one person reported dead.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said in some areas they were called to assist people to cross bridges and there no major incidents.

Lambinon added that the NSRI and the volunteers will continue to monitor the beaches and urged people safeguard themselves in beaches.
