Paramedics responded to a drowning incident

Paramedics responded to a drowning incident at a public swimming pool in Garsfontein, Pretoria this afternoon.

Netacre 911 Spokesperson Santie Steinmann said upon their arrival they found that a woman believed to be in her fifties slipped and fell while playing in the pool.

Steinmann also said the lady sustained serious injuries.

She added that after the woman was treated and stabilised on scene, she was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The exact details with regards to the incident are not known at this stage.
