The Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the up coming petrol increase will hurt consumers.

Petrol price is expected to increase by 39 cents a litre on Wednesday.

Cape Chamber of Commerce President Janine Myburgh said the increase in diesel will do the most damage to consumers and businesses.

Muburgh said there is no way for business to escape this increase, machinery need to run, goods needs to be delivered.

She diesel is more expensive than petrol and there should be a review of the prices because diesel is more cheaper to produce than petrol.
