The South African Communist Party has condemned prolonged delivery protests in Zithobeni and Sebokeng.

SACP Gauteng Provincial Secretary Mamabolo Jacob said the delay of government to sort out these service delivery protests is unacceptable.

SACP has called for a swift intervention by the local, provincial and national authorities whenever protests erupt and to unlock any blockages and to restore normal and effective service delivery.

Jacob said we believe that there is a genuine demand and a case for people of Zitobeni to be heard.

“This is particularly because the people of Zithobeni have raised issues relating to the cost of electricity, to the cost of meter system and many other things that we think should be attended too,” Jacob added.
