NEHAWU has welcomed the R1 billion NSFAS boost

The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union has welcomed the 1-billion-Rand increase to the national student financial aid scheme. 

Nehawu Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said this will go a long way to ensure that working class children are not denied access to education.

Pamla added that the department needs to do something thing better, faster and different if they are to achieve the first goal of building people’s education for people’s power.

“We have to make it clear that we are unhappy in the manner government especially the Department of Higher Education has been dealing with the complaints from the stakeholders. They have to look at better ways of engaging with stakeholders.” Pamla said.
