Western Cape Traffic Officers intensified
their efforts to reduce the number of road accidents involving drunk drivers by
holding roadblocks throughout the province this past weekend.

said they stopped 1 506 vehicles.
“455 drivers were tested for alcohol, 6
drunken drivers were arrested, which the highest reading was 1.19mg /1000ml of breath
recorded in Breckenfell.” Africa added.
The highest speed recorded in the Western Cape was 161km per hour
in a 120km per hour between Pearl and Breckenfell.
395 drivers were prosecuted for speeding
limit.
