Agri SA says the events of the past weekend, when farmers and farm workers were murdered in the Western Cape and Mpumalanga, have once again highlighted the vulnerability of the rural community.
Agri SA President Johannes Möller says rural safety is vital for sustained agricultural production and job opportunities, and to create investment confidence.
He called on police to ensure that the coming festive season would not again be “characterised by an escalation of crime aimed at farming communities and their property”.
