Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele is expected to make a decision on whether to ground South African Airlink.

This follows a string of aviation safety incidents in recent months.

In the most recent incident, a SA Airlink plane overshot the runway at George Airport in the Western Cape on Monday and landed near the N2 highway.

Thirty-three people, three with minor injuries, were evacuated from the plane.

The ministry says a decision will be announce in the next few days.

Ndebele has asked the commissioner of the South African Civil Aviation Authority to provide him, with a report of an audit.

The report is currently underway at SA Airlink as well as preliminary reports on all the incidents.
