The only solution is privatisation. Various governments in SA have promised us economic growth through cheap electricity. Now it appears that government cannot provide such cheap electricity - full stop. Only the private sector can achieve the efficiencies to provide electricity at the most economic price level, because only the private sector has the incentives. So forget about affirmative action and all the other rubbish that destroys these incentives - unless we wan't to continue paying through the nose.
