A suspect has been arrested after an armed robbery took place at an American Swiss store in Stellenbosch.
It is believed that four armed men entered the store and demanded money from the store managers.
Police spokesperson Captain Rene Matthee says the managers of the shop, her son and another male client were tied up with telephone strings in a room in the back of the shop.
“Two of the men kept them hostage in the room and the other two through the jewellery and watches and cell phones in two black bags, said Matthee.
She added that two of the suspects held the Telkom employee who came to fix telephone line at gun point and demanded his cell phone, which he gave to them.
26 year old suspect from Delft handed himself over to the police and will appear in court soon.
