The Presidency has announced that President Jacob Zuma will this afternoon attend the Zulu royal first fruits harvest ceremony at Enyokeni Royal Palace in KwaZulu-Natal.
Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says the ceremony is an important part of the Zulu culture and heritage.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court yesterday dismissed with costs the application by Animal Right Africa for the court to stop the bare-handed killing of a bull during the Ukweshwama ceremony.
ARA claimed that the bull suffered while being trampled on as men try to twist its head by the horns to break its neck.
