17 WC students caught cheating during 2012 exams

The Western Cape Education Department has disqualified 17 pupils from the National Senior Certificate exams.

This came after the department found some irregularities.

MEC Donald Grant Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said “cheating at a Senior certificate exam is a serious offence, and the penalties are very severe”

Casey said that the disqualified learners are banned for writing examinations for between one year and three years.
