The Western Cape MEC for Transport and Public Works on Monday said that they will continue with their campaign to award fine free motorists.

The Department said it would also continue to focus on the provincial roads as the festive season is coming to an end.

Two motorists that have remained fine free during the festive will be given a share of R50 000 at the end of this.

Spokesperson in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works Siphesihle Dube said this is a Safety Home Road Safety Reward campaign which aims to decrease the number of accidents and ensure that drivers practise safety on the roads.

Dube adds that these awards will encourage road users to obey the rules of the road.
