Three people died and three injured in an accident on Sir Lowry's Pass near Gordons Bay

Western Cape traffic officials today said three people have been killed in an accident on Sir Lowry's Pass near Gordons Bay.

The outgoing lane has been closed but has since been re-opened. Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says officials were on the scene redirecting motorists also investigating the cause of the accident.

Transport authorities urged motorists to drive responsibly.

ER24 Spokesperson Christo Venter Three people sustained injuries and three others including a child sadly passed away when three light motor vehicles collided on the Sir Lowry’s Pass.

“It is believed an attempt to overtake send one of the vehicle crashing on top of the other when it came to a stand still.

Paramedics and rescue services treated two patients for moderate injuries while a third had to be airlifted due to critically injuries,” Venter added
