Police negotiating with a man on top of the Civic Centre

It has been reported that a man has been sitting on top of the Cape Town Civic Centre since this morning and he is threatening to commit suicide.

Cape Town police have confirmed that police negotiators have been negotiating with the man not to jump from the 23rd floor.

Police Spokesperson Andre Traut said the police are still at the scene trying to negotiate with the man and the motive for this matter is under investigation.

Police and medical rescue services are on the scene to assist.
