The National Prosecuting Authority says the death of one of the men implicated in the murder of Port Elizabeth teacher Jayde  will not affect the trial.

Sizwezakhe Vumazonke died at Port Elizabeth’s Livingstone Hospital yesterday since he's been in a coma.

Sizwezakhe Vumazonke was set to stand trial along with his three co-accused, including the victim’s husband, Christopher Panayiotou, in October.

Police, the NPA and Vumazonke’s lawyer can’t confirm the cause of death at this stage.

Authorities are  awaiting  results of a toxicology report amid suspicion that Vumazonke may have been poisoned.
