President Robert Mugabe has withdrawn the governments request for a loan from the United Nations Development Programme because he found that the preconditions too unreasonable.

DA MEC of International Relations and Co-Operation Ian Davidson said Mugabe withdraw this request despite not having enough funds for upcoming elections.

Davidson added that it can be inferred that hopes that South Africa will provide him with the necessary finding without any conditions that the election be free and fair.

MEC Davidson further added that public that could otherwise be used to improve the lives of South African should not spend on providing a blank cheque to Mugabe to do as he pleases.

“We should think twice of lending that money to Zimbabwe and make sure those elections are free and fair” Davidson
