Sixteen children injure in an accident in Westville

A accident whereby a taxi collided into a light pole before overturning in Westville this afternoon left sixteen people injured. 

It is believed that the taxi was traveling down a hill while rounding a bend the veered off the roadway and slammed into a lamp. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said there was a total of sixteen children that were injured.

"One of them was in a critical condition, eight others had sustained serious injuries they were all treated on scene and transported through to various hospitals." Botha added.
