Shack fire victims were visited by government officials

The Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor visited the shack fire victims in Khayelitsha on Friday.

Pandor was leading the home affairs team that was issuing temporary Identity Documents to the fire victims.

The meeting was held at the O.R Tambo Hall, Mew Way in Khayelitsha.

Over 3000 people were left homeless on Tuesday morning when their shacks were destroyed by fire.

Pandor said the South African Social Security Agency will provide school uniforms for the learners.

The victims were given clothes, food parcels and mattresses.
