The Portfolio Committee on Women, Children and People with Disabilities held dialogues with children in various provinces including Guateng, Free State, Mpumalanga and the Eastern Cape.

The dialogues were a way for the committee to hear first hand from children the challenges they face within their communities, and to create opportunities for public participation with civil society.

Chairperson of the Committee Dorothy Ramodibe said during this time the Committee sat with children and the aim was to hear from them what were the challenges.

Ramodibe added that the in most cases there are many talks about children in their absence but this time it was decided to include them so that they can also be educated in many issues and about Parliament.
