The Economic Freedom Fighters and Democratic Alliance in Rustenburg say they feel let down by the other small political parties who withdrew from an agreement to form a coalition government and oust the anc.
Yesterday, the African National Congress retained power with mayor Mpho Khunou returning for a second term in office.
Proceedings in the chamber got off to a rocky yesterday morning, with clashes between the ANC and EFF requiring police to be deployed to the city centre.
Opposition parties have been unhappy with the result after being confident that negotiations with other small entities, would lead to a coalition government.
