Two indigenous groups in the Western Cape have asked ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe to reinstate embattled provincial leader Marius Fransman.
The Kai Korana and the Ubiqua-San National wrote to Mantashe, saying they accepted his authority to discipline Fransman, but felt different standards were applied to him due to political reasons ahead of the local government elections.
Fransman has been embroiled in drawn out ANC disciplinary proceedings after he was accused of sexually harassing his personal assistant in January, while they were on their way to the party’s January 8 celebrations in Rustenburg.
