The South African Revenue Service customs officials made a drug bust yesterday when they stopped and searched a Venezuelan woman trying to smuggle 100 cocaine cigar tubes at OR Tambo International Airport.
The suspect had flown in from Brazil and has been arrested.
The contraband weighed almost eight kilograms with an estimated value of R2 million.
SARS official Janine Mqulwana said that the interception, the confinement as well as the passenger will be handed over to the police.
They will investigate and from there, court process will take place too.
