The Christian Democratic Party expressed their  with the judgement of the majority of the Constitutional Court judges on the expropriation of mineral rights.

CDP Reverend Theunis Botha said that he feels that many aspects of the existing act which was challenged, creates problems.

Botha property owners and small enterprises such as saltpan are still at the mercy of the Minister and naturally creates avenues for corruption which the country does not need.

"How many other existing rights may now be affected by the unconstitutional laws simply because the act is promulgated under the pretext that it is correct injustices of the past," said Botha.
