Earlier today a delegation of the DA’s leadership attended the national memorial service for the 13 soldiers who died in battle in the Central African Republic.

Spokesperson for the DA Cameron Arendse said it was a moving and emotional service, and their thoughts and prayers are with the families of those soldiers today.

Arendse added that sacrifices troops and their families make in the service of their country are incalculable.

“Although questions about our presence in the CAR remain, and those must be investigated and asked fully in time” Arendse added.

Arendse also said we should celebrate the lives of the soldiers who died in battle, and South Africa will not forget their bravery.
