The Democratic Alliance has called on Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to reverse the R3.2 billion increase in fuel taxes that were commenced on Wednesday.
The DA said the tax increase will have a negative effect on every South African.
It will hurt not only the economy, but it will drive inflation and could lead to the demise of businesses.
DA Shadow Minister of Finance Tim Harris said the fuel tax levy will raise around R3.2 billion in additional taxes for the government.
