Four children died in a shack fire in Johannesburg

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services on the East Rand today attended to a shack fire in Dukathole. 

It is believed that the shack caught alight while six people were inside sleeping including four children. 

EMS believes that the fire was caused by a candle and paraffin stove which was left burning overnight. 

The fire claimed the lives of the four children. 

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services Spokesperson William Ntladi said the said all four children were trapped inside the burning shack and the mother and the granny were hospitalised for trauma and smoke inhalation.
