The Cancer Association is urging all beach goers to be sun smart when visiting the beach.

Cansa’s Sue Janse van Rensburg says everyone should avoid direct sunlight between ten in the morning and three o’clock in the afternoon when the sun’s rays are most dangerous.

Ultra violet rays reflect off water, glass and grass and can cause sunburn.

She warns about the dangers of excessive sun exposure.
