Western Cape Transport and Public Works MEC Robin Carlisle say the death toll on the province’s road since the 1st of this month shows only a slight improvement, compared to the same time last year.
Carlisle is disappointed that 90 roads deaths have already occurred, compared to last year’s 95.
He is particularly upset that the statistics include a four-month-old baby, a number of toddlers and other children.
Close to half of those killed were pedestrians.
