The Hawks have today stated that officials from the North West Education Department who were facing fraud charges involving R12 million are to remain in custodY.
Former Education MEC, Reverend Johannes Tselapedi and two former heads of the department appeared in the Mmabatho Regional Court on Tuesday on charges of fraud, money laundering and corruption charges.
The three were accused of awarding two tenders for motivational speaking without following the proper procedures.
McIntosh Polela of The Hawks’ said the three were unable to raise bail.
