The Energy Department warns that fuel shortages at inland petrol stations will probably continue until late next month.
The department says it is in daily consultation with oil companies and has requested them to submit their contingency plans.
Motorists in the affected areas are urged to fill up regularly at filling stations that still have supplies.
Driving at lower speeds also conserves fuel.
