The Western Cape traffic services has embarked on operation fatigue campaign .
This is an effort to decrease the number of accidents on the road. As fatigue is one of the cause of many accidents during this time of the year.
The Western Cape traffic services records that about 800 long distance taxis to the Eastern Cape have been pulled over since Thursday.54 of the drivers stopped were not allowed to continue driving because they showed signs of fatigue.
The authorities confiscated their car keys and gave them two to four hours of rest then handed back their keys to continue with their journey.
