Extra public holiday for South Africans

The 27th of this month has been declared as a public holiday by Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe.
Motlanthe is serving as acting president while Jacob Zuma is out of the country.
He made the announcement today, after numerous calls from trade unions to declare the holiday because Christmas falls on a Sunday.
