Students protesting over increase of fees

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology students gathered at the Bellville campus today.

The gathering was to demonstrate their dissatisfaction to the institution having raised the registration fees without negotiating with them.

The students were dispersed by the security hired by the institution. The students leaders were shown court interdicts forbidding them from gathering at the university.

General Secretary of National Education Health and Allied Workers Union at the university Leri Jowah said tomorrow they are going on a protest march even though the university has got a court interdict.
