Jebb Corliss an extreme sportsman broke both his legs while attempting to base jump from the top of Table Mountain.
It is said that Corliss was denied a permit and he still went on with the jump.
Table Mountain National Park officials have now taken legal action against Corliss for jumping without a permit.
Merle Collins SANParks spokesperson said Corliss knew what he was doing was illegal.
Collins continued to say that permits are never issued for dangerous activities.
