Public warned of high temperatures

Cape Town are warned about the extreme heat conditions which will continue today too.

Capetonians are urged to keep away from the heat and to also protect their pets from the heat. Yesterday the mercury rose to 38°C in the Mother City as well as in  the rest of the province.

Vredendal residents said they experienced measuring temperatures of up to 50°C.

Western Cape MEC for education, Donald Grant, warned schools to see to it that pupils drank enough water, applied sunblock and stayed out of direct sunlight
