The higher education Minister Blade Nzimande had to call an emergency briefing soon after the news of the stampede at the University of Johannesburg
He sent his condolences to the family of the woman who died on the stampede earlier today. The minister said he is still in talks with the institution’s personnel as to how did the woman die.
The briefing was held to try find better ways of liaising with prospective students.
He further stated that he will be having meetings with all university chancellors to find ways to avoid the re-occurrence of this.
