The Knysna police have arrested two men on Friday after they allegedly attacked an 81-year-old woman with a hammer in her home.

It is believed that the pensioner was beaten and tied up by the men who then ransacked her home on Wednesday.

The police's Bernadine Steyn said, “They took several items from the house including a camera, cell phone, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled the scene on foot.”

Both suspects will appear in the Knysna Magistrates Court on Monday.
