The schools in the Western Cape received all their stationery and textbooks orders on time for the reopening of schools.

The Western Cape Department of Education says the orders were delivered to the schools a week before the reopening of the schools on Wednesday. This has made things a lot easier for the schools to get started with the classes as soon as they opened.

The department`s Paddy Attwell said the 2012 budget for books stationery and furniture was R133 million.

The department says they are very happy to hear that no schools were vandalised over the holidays.
