Suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Charmaine Mare

A 48-year-old man accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl, Charmaine Mare appeared in the Blue Downs Court on Thursday.

On Monday police were called to a house in Kraaifontein where they found a burnt body of a woman with no legs and arms.

The suspect, Johan De Jager was remained in police custody.

The motive of the killing is still unknown at this stage.

Captain FC van Wyk said when the body was found the suspect was also present and when the family was questioned he was very vague with his answers.

Van Wyk said the suspect will appear again in court on the 24th of January 2013.
