Be your dream campaign aims to empower youth

Teen suicide in South Africa is increasing with the suicide rate for children aged between 10 to 14-years have doubled over the last fifteen years. 

One in five youths considers suicide. 

A campaign called Be Your Dream campaign aims to empower and have early intervention strategy towards promoting emotional wellness and thus saving and improving lives.

Founder for Be Your Dream campaign Anais De Jager explains further that it is mainly aimed at the youth, it has many sections under the Be Your Dream campaign.

De Jager said that they have the be your dream youth campaign where they go to schools and they do a musical show for the kids as she is a musician as well.

Furthermore De Jager said that they get their interest and their trust and they tell them about lifeline at a level that they understand and they teach them the lifeline number.

“This project also has many sections for all ages and it has been received quite well by everyone,” said De Jager.
