The Western Cape Department of Health on Thursday said measles and polio vaccines are in short supply at present.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said the department is managing the available stock to reduce the impact as far as possible.

1.8 million doses of measles vaccine is expected to be delivered to the national department of health by the end of the month.

Rossouw said the department is by all means to ensure that the medication is re-stocked again but by the end of May everything will be undercontrol.
