R6.2 Million Public Library officially opened in Knysna

Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports together with the national Department of Arts and Culture officially opened a public library in Knysna. 

The library which was opened on Tuesday cost R6.2 million. MEC of Cultural Affairs and Sports Dr Ivan Meyer said the library will create public value for the community. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Daniel Johnson said the library which comes at a cost of R6.2 million enlarges the library to approximately 1100m2.

“This 1100 m2 of new library consisting of three storey does mean that we are now in a position to provide an improved library service to the citizens of Knysna Johnson added.
