Six more bodies recovered in George collapsed building

Rescue and recovery efforts continue into week two after the incident took place at 75 Victoria Street where a partially-built building collapsed.

George Municipality has confirmed that six of the bodies recovered from the collapsed construction site in George have been identified. Municipality said that it is "proactively setting up plans" to expedite the identification of the dead, using fingerprints, DNA testing, unique markings such as tattoos, and clothing items.



 As of 09:00, 32 people had been declared dead. Of those, 26 are men and six are women. There are still 20 people unaccounted for.
