An accident has left two people died and three seriously injured

Two people died and three people sustained serious injuries this is after a head-on collision on the N2 between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown late last night. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said a group of tourists were traveling towards Grahamstown when a bakkie collided head-on into them.

Botha added that when they arrived on scene the two occupants from the bakkie had tragically died on scene due to the very serve injuries they sustained.  The two tourists as well as a friend sustained serious injuries; they were treated on scene and then transported to various hospitals for further care.

The exact details of the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation.
