WC traffic officials were out in full force over the weekend

Western Cape traffic officials held roadblocks over the weekend and several cars were tested. 

The Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said these roadblocks are held to ensure that drivers adhere to the rules of the road and to decrease the fatality rate on the road.

Africa said there were several arrest that were made a taxi driver was arrested for negligent driving and two drunk pedestrian and other people arrested for dagga possession.

He added that one other driver was arrested for work permit issues.

The Traffic officials every weekend they hold 24 roadblocks and drivers are tested for alcohol and speed limit.

Africa said there was one fatality reported this weekend.
