The National Consumer Commission has received a qualified audit opinion from the Auditor-General.

DA Shadow Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Geordin Hill-Lewis said this is an unacceptable regression from the unqualified audit the NCC received last year.

“It has not made any progress in getting it’s internally management mechanism right.” Lewis added

He further added that The Auditor general has raised concern of over R15,590,211 in irregular expenditure and The NCC failed to spend 72.3% of its capital budget.
