Two teenagers presumed to have drowned in Camps Bay Beach

The National Sea Rescue Institute in Bakoven and volunteer sea rescue was activated by the transnet national ports authority following reports of a drowning in progress at Camps Bay Beach.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said they started with the search together with the police.

Lambinon said a 15 year old had been swept away by rip currents and two other teenagers jumped in trying to rescue the other teenager but they drowned.

He added that the 15 year-old was rescued and the other two are presumed to have drowned.
