The South African Municipal Workers Union in Limpopo said it is worried by the way in which management of Lepell-Northern Water is abusing its powers.

Samwu’s Limpopo Provincial Secretary Simon Mathe said since they started exposing corruption in the institution several Samwu shop stewards have been victimised.

Mathe said after they reported corruption management is now intending to suspend members.  The Department of Water Affairs has also promised to send a team to take issues forward.

“We will not be broken by threats of suspension and we will continue to expose corruption as and when it is committed” Mathe added.
